CLINICAL SUPERVISION

In a safe and respectful environment while guided by an experienced supervisor clinical supervision provides an opportunity to;

– Engage in guided evaluation & reflection on current practice in order to develop & enhance future practice in clinical & therapeutic settings.

– Maintain, support and develop a practitioner’s professional functioning and well-being while safe guarding clients’ care.

– Support the practitioner to develop their own style, expertise and confidence

– Provide a ‘neutral’ perspective of what is being presented in supervision

– Encourage the practitioner to think beyond their current style & way of working

– Enhance skills and knowledge

As a trained and experienced clinical supervisor, Deisy is committed to providing practitioners with a confidential, safe and supportive environment, to critically reflect on professional practice.

In addition to having attended clinical supervision training, Deisy’s clinical supervision experience emerges from having held senior clinical positions having coordinated and managed diverse clinical (allied health) teams across many settings within the government and non-government sectors. She has further sharpened her experience since working in private practice for many years, where she continues to provide with individual and group supervision to counselling professionals and practitioners (in private practice or working for organisations). She also provides consultation (in individual & systemic therapy) to health and human services agencies and clinical allied health teams (comprised of counsellors, psychotherapists, art therapists, psychologists, social workers and family and relationship therapists).

Further to this, given Deisy’s extensive and diverse clinical experience working across the various sectors (government, non-government and private), she is able to support and coach practitioners through their transitional clinical process. To this end, Deisy is frequently approached by allied health practitioners working in organizations interested in and wishing to get established in private practice. Deisy also provides clinical supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate university students from therapeutic professions and supports universities with student placements.
